Deepak Kabra and Akshata Shete from India are members of Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU) Technical Committee and will go to the Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships 2019 for the first time in their new role and act as Superior Jury members for the Artistic and Rhythmic Gymnastics competitions respectively.
Leading International level Judge, Deepak Kabra who is FIG Category 2 judge, in both Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics has been named as member to the Men’s Artistic Technical Committee for 2019-2022 by the Asian Gymnastics Union.
Akshata Shete, who has been an International level rhythmic gymnast and one of the most decorated Indian rhythmic gymnasts, is FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics Category 2 Judge and has also been named as a member of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee Member for 2019-2022 by the Asian Gymnastics Union.
Deepak Kabra will be going for the 8th Senior Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships will be held at Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from 19th to 23rd of June, 2019 and Akshata Shete will be going to the 11th Senior and 18th Junior Rhythmic Gymnastics Asian Championships in Pattaya, Thailand from 20th to 23rd of June, 2019.
We wish them the very best for their new posts and we are certain that this is another stepping stone to put India on the map at the international level in the sport. We would also like to congratulate the gymnasts, coaches and judges in the artistic and rhythmic disciplines who have been selected to represent India in Mongolia and Thailand respectively and we hope they can bring home a medal!
