Indian Judges and Coaches selected as Asian Gymnastics Union Members

Gymnastics is beginning to make its mark within the country. This includes not only gymnasts bringing home countless medals but also their support staff, which includes judges and coaches. Within the Asian continent, a number of Indian officials have made their mark by getting selected as Technical members of the Asian Gymnastics Union. The recent meeting by the AGU was held in Doha where five Indians became committee members across various gymnastics disciplines.

 

The Secretary of Maharashtra Amateur Gymnastics Association, Dr Makarand Joshi who has served as manager for the Indian team at the Commonwealth Games last year, was named as a Technical Committee Member for Aerobic Gymnastics. Similarly, Sumith M Rajeshwari named the Acrobatic Gymnastics Technical Committee Member and Narayan Shahi has been selected to be the ‘Gymnastics For All’ Committee Member. Leading International level Judge, Deepak Kabra named a part of the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics Technical Committee. Akshata Sanjay Shete, who has been an International level rhythmic gymnast for the country at countless competitions, has been named as a Rhythmic Gymnastics Technical Committee Member.

 

We hope this brings about a positive impact for the sport within the country and the continent. We wish call these individuals the very best in their endeavor to improve the level and quality of gymnastics as well as make our nation proud in the community!
