Tired of hearing about the IPL all the time? Come join us for the very first Indian GYMNASTICS LEAGUE. We believe it’s time to make sports like gymnastics popular across the country and showcase the talent of the best gymnasts in India using a new creative concept. The need to develop Indian gymnastics and bring world class infrastructure led us to formulate the Indian Gymnastics League.
The competition will be held in Mumbai at the Prabodhankar Thackeray Krida Sankul in Vile Parle (E) from the 1st to the 3rd of December, 2017.
IGL competition is conceptualized and will be hosted in memory of Mr. Ramesh Prabhoo, Ex Mayor / MLA who had envisioned to create several successful sports people from his incubation centre, PTKS complex. He was always in forefront to help aspiring sports people to achieve their goals. Competitions will be held from 1st – 3rd December 2017, at Prabodhankar Thackeray Krida Sankul, located in Vile Parle (East) Mumbai-400057, Maharashtra. This Competition will be organized and hosted by PTKS and TheGymnast, under the aegis of RYP Centre of Excellence.
The league is being held in honour of the founder of the PTKS Sports Complex, Late Dr. Ramesh Prabhoo (Ex Mayor/MLA) whose aim was to create a world class sports facility and help athletes reach their absolute potential. The following competition is organized and hosted by PTKS and TheGymnast under the aegis of the RYP Centre for Excellence, and is supported by Paramita and CSMS Samiti, Mumbai.
This League is held in conjunction with the RYP Invitational Sports Meet which will be held at PTKS from 25th November to 10th December and includes competitions in various sports such as Swimming, Diving, Shooting etc.
There will 4 teams with 8 gymnasts on each team. 4 of them will be male gymnasts (2 seniors and 2 juniors) and 4 female gymnasts (4 seniors and 4 juniors). There are 4 events for the men – Rings, High Bar, Floor and Vault and four for the women – Vault, Bars, Beam and Floor. To make it interesting and challenging for the gymnasts, the organizers have devised a different set of rules and an easy to follow scoring system for the audiences.
